Whoo hoo! We have new books in the media center, waiting for you to check them out soon. Tunnels by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams is one of our new books. You can actually download the book from Richland County Public Library and listen to it, just like I am right now! I love their downloadable books. I load them onto my Mp3 player and listen to them as I’m driving, walking, working on the computer, or just cleaning around the house. Check these out…..see you soon!

Are you reading these nominees over the summer? I’m trying very hard to make it through them before school starts! So far, I’ve really liked the ones I’ve read so far.
Clementine… What is there not to love about Clementine? She’s so funny! I love her reasoning and her family is just plain normal.
Dexter, the Tough… Dexter is a lovable character but he tries oh so hard to be the toughest guy in school. Have you ever felt like that? Well, even if you haven’t, I think you will love reading this book just as much as I did.
Drita, My Homegirl… A great contemporary book about friendship with the most unlikely of classmates.
Free Baseball… If you like sports, especially baseball, this is a great novel for you! For those of you who enjoyed Stumptown Kid last year, this is along the same lines but with a Florida-feel. I wanted to be sitting in the stands with the characters.
Gossamer… This is simply magical! Have you ever wondered where your happy dreams come from? Littlest is a very interesting character, devoted to her work with dreams and determined to keep her family safe from nightmares.
Homework Machine… What better invention could there be? I mean, not having to actually do homework. WHOA! Enjoy this fun book!
Roxie and the Hooligans… Roxie and Clementine are two of my favorite characters this summer. I think you will enjoy Roxie’s shenanigans as much as I did!
See you all on August 21st! Enjoy the next few weeks of summer!

I’m reading several books at the same time! Not really of course. That would be physically impossible!
I just finished #12 of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum detective series (adult fiction). It was wonderfully hilarious!
For school, I’m reading The Big House by Carolyn Coman. It sounds like a similar plot to Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events but this is only one book so I don’t know how much it will resemble the entire series. Check back for my thoughts when I’m done!
